Plain Jane Knits Up A Storm

A few musings about my needlecraft hobbies - knitting, crocheting, quilting, & cross-stitch along with my other love, genealogy. While growing up, I used to HATE the term "Plain Jane", but when it comes to knitting & crocheting, I've realized that I really *am* a Plain Jane in that I don't use fancy yarns.

Hats, Hats & More Scarves

No photos today, but I've been working along on more hats & scarves for the K4 project. As warm as it's been in South-east Michigan this week - temperatures in the mid to high 90s with heat indexes up to 106°! - all too soon, winter will be upon us and there will be people in need of warm winter wear. I turned in four sets of matching hats & scarves at the K4 meeting on yesterday afternoon and have finished three more hats since then. Frances, who is one of my Monday afternoon students, crocheted two purple scarves and two of the hats I just knit will match them to create sets. The other hat is a window pane design in smoky blue combined with a variegated. The scarf, which I cast on about 15 minutes ago will have the variegated for about 36 rows on either end and the solid blue in the middle. It keeps me busy and out of mischief {g}....

The weather sounds yucky but the knitting sounds like fun.
